Wilfredo Mercado, Jr. is a New York State Certified Court Interpreter with a Master's Degree in English, and a teacher Certification from Department of Education of Puerto Rico. During his 15 years in Puerto Rico he taught English to College, High School, Middle School and Elementary School students as well as Adults enrolled in Night School. After relocating back to his childhood roots in the Bronx, he worked as a workshop coordinator and facilitator under the Community Affairs Unit of the Bronx District Attorney's Office. Here he was able to teach, update and create a Crime Prevention Curriculum in over 40 schools in the Bronx, where he saw the need for Language Services for Spanish-only speaking students and parents in his surrounding community. After becoming certified as a Court Interpreter in 2018 he served as Spanish Court Interpreter in Rockland County Family Court until September 2023 further honing his interpreting skills both in and out of the courtroom setting.
Parallel to his career in the language and education fields, Wilfredo has steadily cultivated his artistic and technological passion. He has been able to combine his knowledge of photography, digital media creation and technology with his decades-long career in language into what has now become Mercado Language and Media Services. His clients so far range from attorneys, arts and crafts small businesses to daycare centers and political candidate campaigns.
